Zhoeng ("we," "us," or "our") built the Zhoeng Dictionary app as a Commercial application. This SERVICE is provided by us and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information.

1. Information Collection and Use

We do not require you to provide any personally identifiable information to use the app. The app functions entirely locally on your device. Specifically:

• No Search Tracking: The words you look up, the sentences you translate, and your study history are processed and stored strictly on your local device. We do not transmit this data to our servers.
• No Account Creation: You are not required to create an account, provide an email address, or link social media profiles to use the app.
• No Location Tracking: We do not request or access GPS or location data from your device.

2. Log Data and Crash Reports

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app, data and information (through third-party products provided by the operating system) may be collected on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

This data is anonymized and is used strictly for technical troubleshooting and improving the stability of the application. You can opt-out of this data collection via your iOS or Android system settings.

3. Third-Party Services and Advertising

Zhoeng does not use third-party advertising networks, nor do we sell, rent, or share any of your data with marketing agencies or data brokers. The app is a premium, self-contained utility.

4. Data Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Because Zhoeng is an offline application, the security of your study data and flashcards is maintained by the native security protocols of your device (e.g., iOS or Android file system encryption). We recommend keeping a screen lock on your device to protect your personal data.

5. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Because our app operates offline and does not require account creation, we do not gather age demographics. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information (for example, via an email to our support team), please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions to delete it.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the Zhoeng Dictionary mobile application (the "Service") operated by Zhoeng ("us", "we", or "our"). Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

1. License and App Usage

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-assignable, non-exclusive, revocable, and non-commercial license to use the Zhoeng software provided to you. This license has the sole purpose of enabling you to use and enjoy the benefit of the Services as provided by Zhoeng, in the manner permitted by these Terms.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content (including but not limited to the dictionary database, example sentences, grammar formulas, UI/UX design, and source code), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Zhoeng and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.

You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the internal SQLite database; (b) copy, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of our content for commercial purposes; or (c) distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services.

3. App Store Dependencies

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and Zhoeng only, and not with Apple or Google. Zhoeng, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple and Google have no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

While we strive for maximum accuracy in our linguistic data (Pinyin, translations, HSK tags), language is fluid and complex. Zhoeng Dictionary does not warrant that the translations or definitions provided are 100% error-free, accurate, or perfectly applicable to every context.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Zhoeng, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory.

6. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
